The Last Letter

Dear Family,

I thought this day would never come. My last letter I will write as a missionary. I have a million emotions running through my mind right now, I think my mind has just kind of shut down, from all the emotion...ha its so weird!! I don´t even know where to begin.

So this last Saturday we had Alex´s baptism, and he was so excited! He came like 45 minutes early and couldn´t sit still. He kept getting up and pacing and saying its almost time, its almost time. He was so cute!! It made me so happy to see him happy! It was a really special day for him and for all of the ward members. He´s going to change this ward, I´m sure of it!!

Another miracle I want to share. This last Tuesday we met Ana, who is 16 years old, in the first lesson, we felt the spirit, but SUPER strong!!! She accepted baptism and a date on the FIRST LESSON!!! She had the date for this next Saturday, but she had a change of heart at the baptism of Alex, and she will now be baptised TOMORROW!!! Exactly one week later. She felt the spirit super strong in Alex´s baptism, and after we finished she came up to us and said she wanted to be baptised as soon as possible, because she knew that all of it was true. And the Bishop...who is AWESOME, looks at her and says...well, what do you think about Tuesday, as a going away gift to Hermana Pasley. I literally almost cried!!! So tomorrow, we will have Ana´s baptism as well. God is good!!! And Ana is the miracle we had been praying for!!!!! I love the mission!!!!! I can´t believe that it is all coming to an end.

As I thought of what to write in my last letter home, I wanted to write some powerful poem or some amazing, intricate words that would touch all of your hearts, but if there is one thing I have learned on the mission, is that God keeps it simple. He doesn´t care that I can´t write powerful words, he doesn´t care that I´m not the best at expressing myself. Because he has sent his Son Jesus Christ to make it all up. What I have learned is that is is okay to be weak. We all have weaknesses, we all make mistakes, and we always seem to fall short, but that is where and when we learn to be humble. It is when we learn to trust completely and fully in our Savior. I have learned to lean on him in every moment, to trust in his promise, that weak things shall become strong. I have learned to accept that I´m not the best and I never will be the best. But that I am enough, Christ made me enough through his atoning sacrifice. And how proud I am to be his missionary. How proud I am to bear his name on my chest. How proud I am to walk down the streets and help all I see come to know him. To know that he lives and that he is here with us. How proud I am to be able to work shoulder to shoulder with him, and invite all to come unto him.

I know that Jesus Christ lives, I know that he is my Savior. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it the one and only true church, it is Christ´s church. I know that I am doing His work. I know He lives.

I love each and everyone of you SO much! I want to thank you all for your support, your prayers and your love. You have no idea how much your love has blessed me and the impact you have had in my life. I cannot express my gratitud, nor my love well enough, but I am truly grateful for each and every one of you!

I cannot wait to see you all!!! Don´t be scared if you see my crying like baby :) I love you all so much!! ¡Hasta la vista baby!

con muchísimo amor,

Houston...We have a BAPTISM!!!

Hello Family!

How are we all doing?? Can you believe how fast time is going? Time is FLYING by! The weeks are finishing up way too fast. Its hard to believe that it is all coming to an end. I`m now in the denying stage. Its a weird feeling!

So this last week, we had been praying to find new investigators. To find new people that want to progress and that will help us have success this month! And of course I was praying that I could finish out my mission with a baptism and BOY did he answer my prayer! WE GOT A BAPTISM THIS SATURDAY!!! His name is Alex. He has been an investigator for a couple of months. He has had some hard challenges and suffers from depression. He needed this gospel, but everytime he would feel the spirit come in and give him peace, he would shut his self down and wouldn`t let himself accept that he was loved by his Heavenly Father he wouldn`t allow himself to be at peace. Until Thursday, we had the do or die lesson. If he didn`t except baptism and a date that night, we were going to drop him. We decided to teach him the gospel of Jesus Christ and as we taught him about baptism, a spirit came in so strong as we watched to video of Jesus being baptised. As we finished the video, we invited him to stand in front of the baptismal font and invited him to follow the example of his Savior. Without a doubt he said yes and accepted his date for this week! Finally he let himself feel!! It was a super powerful lesson! We are so excited for him and have seen a great change in him these last few days! He is 10 times happier and seems to have had a burden of some sort lifted off of his shoulders. I am so glad that the Lord has blessed me with this baptism. It has lifted my spirits, as well as Alex`s and many of the ward members! God answers prayers! I know he listens!

The time is passing rapidly and I hope to be able to finish out my mission how the Lord wants me to finish! I love you all and am so grateful for the support that you all have given me through out this year and a half! I love you!!! Until Monday!!

He is Here

Hello Family!

How are we all doing? It sounds like it is getting really hot up there as well!! The good thing about the heat here is that your clothes dry in like 2 seconds. So it makes doing laundry really fast and easy! But it is really hot!!!

But before I say anything else. CONGRATULATIONS SISTER HANNAH PASLEY!!! THE CALIFORNIA REDLANDS MISSION IS SO LUCKY TO BE GETTING YOU! I am so happy for your decision to serve the Lord. It will change your life and the lives of many others! You will grow so much!! I love you so much Hanny!!

So speaking of missions. As you know, my mission is coming to an end, I don`t have to much longer. And as I`m sure every missionary feels, you wonder if you have done everything, if the Lord is pleased with what you have done. That question has been on my mind for the last few weeks and I have been praying for an answer, the Lord could help me know what I must do in order for me to leave as a successful missionary. And boy did he answer my prayer!

This last week an area seventy came and did a tour of our mission. Elder Torrìs and his wife. And let me tell you, it was the BEST conference I have ever had. He talked for 3 hours straight, but I felt like it was only 30 minutes! I felt the spirit so strong that day, and it gave me so much more energy and desires to finish out strong!

But there is one experience in particular I would really like to share. Wrapping up the conference he turned the time over for questions. As the missionaries began to ask questions, he changed his mind and gave us a promise. He told each of to hold the Book of Mormon in our hand, say a pray asking our question, raise the BOM above our heads and open it, and there we would receive our answer. But he not only promised us, he promised us in the name of Jesus Christ. When he gave us the promise, you could literally fell that it was not him speaking, but that he was speaking the words of Christ. So we took the promise in stride and began to pray. And I received my answer! My long, soul searching question, that had been on my mind for weeks! As I finished my prayer, I knew before I even opened the scriptures that I would receive an answer. But I opened to D&C 126 and it reads:

1  Dear and well-beloved brother, Brigham Young, verily thus saith the Lord unto you: My servant Brigham, it is no more required at your hand to leave your family as in times past, for your offering is acceptable to me.
2  I have seen your labor and toil in journeyings for my name.
3  I therefore command you to send my word abroad, and take especial care of your family from this time, henceforth and forever. Amen.

As I read that section, I began to cry and to cry and cry. And as I looked up, I saw that every missionary (about 75 missionaries) in that room was crying. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US received an answer that day. Jesus Christ literally spoke to each and every one of us personally. It was an experience that I will never ever forget. It was one of the most powerful witnesses that I have received that the Lordanswers prayers. That he knows each of us personally and he knows our needs and our fears. He continues to speak to men, he is here!

I know that Jesus Christ lives and that this is the true church. I know that the priesthood has been restored and that his servents in this last dispensation are truly HIS servents.

I love you all so much and cannot wait to see you! Pray for me lots so that I can finish the mission out strong! Love you all more than you know!

Forget Yourself...and GET TO WORK!

Dearest Family!

Another transfer come and gone and now we´re headed into overtime! Its crazy to think that I am heading into my last transfer! I still don´t really feel like its all coming to an end, which is good because I still have so much more to do here! Ahhh, so much to do and so little time! It is crazy!

I am sorry that I don´t have much time to write, but I want you all to know that I am well and will be staying in Mina with Hermana Calva and yesterday we got a new companion yesterday who will be filling in my place since I will only be here for half the transfer. Her name is Sister Tellez and she is from Mexico City. She has 5 months in the mission and just came from my area in Zapata, so that was fun to hear how everyone is doing there!

This last week I have prayed and prayed so that I can finish out my mission strong, I don´t want to become unfocused and have my extra time be wasted time and as I have pondered and pondered, I figured out that all I need to do is forget myself. I need to swallow my pride, every day dream of swimming in an ice cold pool, and everything that I would rather be doing, and focus on what others need. As we put others needs first, our problems and our tendency to think of only ourselves, seems to fade away and we become focused on what the Lord would have us do. It helps us open our eyes and see how much there is to do. This last week I saw this Mormon Message and I think it will wrap everything up nicely!

I love you all so much and hope you have a great week! Stay strong and keep the faith!

Walk with Him

Dearest Family!!

How are you guys doing? Can you believe its Monday again?? Time is flying by! I don´t even know what is going on!!!

So this week has been a little crazy working the two areas, but we have seen a lot of success and have found quite a few new investigators and have met some awesome people, so we´re excit3ed to see how everything turns out this weeks! We´re a little stressed with the double load, but super excited to get to see double the success! Its pretty awesome!!!

So I want to share a scripture that I read in my personal study this last week. I was studying obedience. What it really means to be obedient. If you would have asked me before the mission, I would have said, keep the commandments, choose the right...which yes Hermana Pasley, that is part of being obedient, but the part that I never understood until I got on the mission was doing it out of love and doing the it because it is the Lord´s will. We have to become one with the Father if we truly want to be obedient. Just as Christ gave us this perfect example, he was one with the Father because he was perfectly obedient. Some times I ask myself why I´m not having success when I´m being obedient, but then I look deep and hard inside myself realize that I´m only being obedient to be obedient, I´m not doing because I know that is what God expects of me! All of this became so clear as I read this scripture in Moses 6:

34 Behold my Spirit is upon you, wherefore all thy words will I justify; and the mountains shall flee before you, and the rivers shall turn from their course; and thou shalt abide in me, and I in you; therefore walk with me.

If we are obedient, and remember why we are obedient, if we become one with the Father, we can do ANYTHING! There is no excuse for failure, because it will be impossible because we will be doing the Father´s will! So this week I have the goal to walk with him, to put his will before mine and work and work and work and work. I know I will have success!!

This gospel is so amazing! This week we all should put the goal to walk with him.

I love you all so much! Stay strong and keep the faith!

Hermana Pasley

P.S. I don´t know if I missed Father´s Day, but its this Sunday here in Mexico. Happy Father´s Day Daddy!! I love you! You´re the best man I know!

Two is Better than One!

Hello Family!

Another Monday has come! Time is going by way too fast!! I don´t even know how I should be feeling right now! How are we all doing? Surviving the heat?? Cause sure is hot as ever here!!

So this week we had the baptism of FABIÁN!! It was so special to see a man who is 76 years old be baptised by his best friend who is 77 years old. The sweetest part was as we were waiting to start the program he started to cry! He is the sweetest old man ever! He is SO special. Thank you so much for your prayers on our part, it has helped us every step of the way!

This week has also been interesting! On Thursday night we got a call and they told us that one of the sisters in Mina was leaving and that they were going to put us in a trio and that we now need to start working in both of the areas...which are in different stakes...ouch! Its a little stressful, but were trying to figure out how to work the two areas and we know that everything will work out great! Because you know what they say, two is better than one! So say an extra pray for us this week! Its gonna be a bumpy ride! But its what I need to help me finish the mission strong!

I hope you all have great week! I love you and pray for you always! Stay strong and keep the faith!!

Hermana Pasley

I got to see Hermana Gietzen again! it was a happy reunion! shell be extending with me! She´s so awesome!

4 Days

Hola dear family,

How are you all?? I hope you have all had good week and are enjoying the heat! Its actually cooled off a little bit this last week, so that was a nice break! This last week was fun, and my companion made my birthday special! She bought me my first piñata!! It was a minion, I wanted Harry Potter, but hes not quite as popular here! So we settled for a minion and had a mini party in the house that night. We celebrated by working and working and working all day! But on Saturday one of the members invited us over for cake and we had a fun little get together...even though they shoved my face in the cake! Mexicans are party animals I tell ya!

This last week we had a really special experience this last week! So the week before we had 3 dates and every single one fell through! What? We were a little bit more than discouraged! We were sure we were going to meet our goal for the month, and out of no where our investigators dropped off of the face of the earth! But one Monday a very wise man *ugh Dad* shared a story that comes from the bible which was my theme for the week. He shared the story of when Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead. How He waited until 4 days after he had died to make the miracle happen. Sometimes, like Mary and Martha, Christ pushes us to test our faith even when it seems beyond our limits. He knows that our faith is more important than our pain, and it is experiences that help us feel the love of the Savior more fully in our lives, it helps us grow. So leaving the computer lab on Monday I had four days in my head. I just have to trust in the Lord and pass through my four days with faith. I obviously didn´t know how long my four days would last, but I left motivated to work! I shared the thought with my companion and everyday we prayed for the strength to support our four days. So we worked, we fasted, and we prayed like never before, praying for a miracle.

So the week went on and we kept working. Four days later, we left to visit the cutest old man named Fabian that we´d been teaching for only a week. As we got to the lesson he had the biggest grin on his face, looked us in the eyes and said, "Hermanitas, I read the chapter you left me in the Book of Mormon, and the pamphlet about the Plan of Salvation, and I know that this is the plan that God has for me. I have received my answer and I want to be baptized." Did I hear him right?? He received an answer?? Me and my companion both looked at each other and almost cried. Our four days had passed (literally) and Christ brought forth his miracle. Fabian will be baptized this Saturday. It was one of the most spiritual experiences I have had on my mission and I know that we saw a miracle. And the faith and trust I gained in those four days is so special and sacred to me. I know that when we do all that we can do, Christ works miracles in our lives. He helped me grow, and Fabian as well.

I know that I am doing the Lord´s work. I know that this is his church. And I know that he loves each and every one of us. Trust in him and endure your four days, for the miracle will come.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes, I felt your love! I hope you all have a good week and know how much I love you and how much more your Savior loves you.

with love,
Hermana Pasley

Mission Impossible: Mr. Rat

Hello Family!

How are you all doing? Thank you for all the birthday wishes! I know it will be a good one! I´m gonna be 21...whaaaat? I´m old..and I´m feeling it :)

So yes, we are all safe and sound after the storm. Not too much damage was done in the ward and the next morning it looked like nothing even happened, it didn´t even phase these people!! But its hotter and more humid than ever! And we just go with it...the weathers crazy here!

So I´m writing early today, because we´re going to be changing houses today. Our old house was so nasty!!! Cleaning the kitchen today made me sick! But I have a really funny story to tell you! So about 2 weeks ago my companion and I were sitting planning one night and all the sudden I see a HUGE RAT run from the chair into the spare room. You´ve got to be joking me were the only words that came out of my mouth! And my companion looks at me and starts screaming and jumps onto her chair. What do we do? What do we do? I HATE rats, I wasn´t about to do anything! But we had to think fast because I didn´t want that nasty vermin running around in my clothes in the other room. So we both gathered up enough courage to run to the door and shut it as fast as we could. And that's what we did, and it stayed there for 5 days. At night, when we would come home, I would hear it crying and it made me a little sad, but then I told myself to snap out of it, because that nasty creature was eating all of my cookies and making a mess all over the house...it needed to die! And after 5 days, I knew that it had died because the house started smelling a little funky. But we were too scared to open the door, afraid that it might jump out and bite us. So we sneaked around the side of the house and peered through the window and there it was dead as dead lying there on the floor! Pobre cito, but we know where it is and that its in a better place. But then there came another problem. How were we going to get the dang rat out of the house? So we went to a members house to ask for help, but her husband wasn´t going to be able to come until that night. Gross! So we went to the next house...nope. Finally we went to visit the cutest old lady and we told her the situation. And all the sudden she started yelling about the stupid rats that live here and get in the houses and kept saying that we were mice kidnappers...what? And she gave us lime to throw on top of it until the hermano could come that night. She bought us 2 kilos of lime for one rat! Later, we get to the house and we´re fighting over who is going to be the one to dump the lime on the rat. I lost and had to be brave, so I pulled my shirt over my nose and opened the door ever so slightly...and threw the bag of lime (2kilos) over the rat from 4 feet away. Lime went EVERYWHERE and there was a huge cloud of it...it looked like a nuclear bomb had gone off, and I went running and screaming slamming the door shut. Then that night the hermano came to clean it up, we cleaned the room and to this day that door stays shut. It was one of the top 10 scariest things of my life. I hate rats and be careful because they eat your cookies!

So as you can see the adventures never stop here in Mexico. But we´re enjoying our time and we pushing through the heat, rain, and rats! I love my mission and wouldn´t be anywhere else! So this week look out for rats and stay strong and keep the faith! And have a little extra fun on Thursday...its practically a holiday :) Love you!!!

With love,
Hermana Pasley

So there is a factory behind us, but there is one tower bigger than the rest and its always shooting out fire. We think it looks like Sauron from lord of the rings. This may be why we´re not having a lot of success lately!

I saw a real life Mariachi band!!!

We love our mission!!

I Love the Rainy Nights

Hi family!!

How are you all doing! It´s Monday again...can you believe it?? All is well in Minatitlan and the work is great! Me and Hermana Calva are having a lot of success together! She´s awesome!

So we had quite the adventure this week. Well...I can now say that I have lived through a hurricane! Ha and I´m not even lying! On Saturday, it was SO hot, but SO hot! And when it gets really hot like that it normally rains that night, so we were expecting rain...but we were not expecting the winds. We were outside washing dishes, and all the sudden wind started to blow but really hard, so we finished up quick and went inside. Then the rain came and winds got faster and faster until we couldn´t even see out of our window and then the power went out. Thats when I started singing "I love the rainy nights" :) It was a little spooky! Then all the sudden we hear a whole bunch of crashing above. Our neighbors who live above us have sheet metal for a roof and it started getting TORN OFF!!! What?!?! There was sheet metal flying all over the place. All around the house. 3 sheets landed in our back porch and one landed right in front of the window we were standing at and ripped the screen, blocking the door. So we were stuck in the house until the next day! The rain and wind lasted a good hour. It was crazy!!! The front room was filled with water, and we were without power for most the night but that was the only damage done. There also is no water in Minataitlan right now, so we´re all living off well water. That´s fun! They told us that on Saturday night we got the tail end of a hurricane, so I that is why I can say I survived a hurricane...even if it wasn´t really a hurricane! But it sure was crazy! I´ve never seen so much lightning and heard so much thunder!

This week has also been awesome! We found a SUPER prepared investigator who is ready to be baptised! In the first lesson, he brought up baptism. And in the second lesson he had a date! He is amazing! He´s had a hard life and looks a little scary. To be honest when we contacted him in the street, he scared me a little bit. But he is so humble and really wants to repent! He´s read a good part of the book of mormon in just one week and progressing so fast! We´re so grateful for the miracles we have seen this week. God is good. He is a God of miracles! With the whole theme of hurricanes, we have the goal to give our investigators and the members a rock foundation. So that when the rains come down and the floods come, they´re strong!! We hope to give them a rock solid foundation which of course is built on Christ!

I love my Savior and I know that he lives.

I hope you all have a good week and know how much I love you! Stay strong and keep the faith!

I will go, I will do, the things the Lord commands

Hello Family!

How are we all? Its been forever since we´ve talked!! :) So I´m not reallly sure what to say! But we´re just going to go with it! So not much has happened since last night, it only got hotter! Nothing new!

So this last week I was reading in 1 Nephi 17 and I loved the story of Nephi building the ship. (My goal this week is to be more like Nephi) The Lord tells him to go up to the mountain and pray. Nephi being perfectly obedient goes up and prays. On the mountain the Lord tells him to build a ship...and this is the best part...Nephi only asks where he can go to find the tools necessary to build the ship. HE DOESN´T EVEN DOUBT OR QUESTION!!! If God told me to build a ship, I would think I´d gone crazy! But I realized how little faith I really do have. There are so many times that I know that I receive revelation and I blow it off. Sometimes I´m too distracted or sometimes i just don´t want to do it, and blow it off thinking I´m crazy, because thats just ridiculous! So my goal this week is to be more like Nephi, when I get revelation, I´m not going to doubt or question anything. I´m just going to do it. I will go I will do the things the Lord command. I know the Lord provides a way, he wants me to obey!!

Just obey...you´ll be happy you did. Then wait the Lord to help you make the miracle. Think of what we could do if we just trusted the Lord a little bit more, if we quit questioning and doubting and just moved forward with faith!!

So stay strong and keep the faith!! I love you all and hope you all had a good Mother´s day!! Love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Touching Lives for Good.

Hi Family!!

How are we all doing?? Its almost Mother´s Day!! Woohoo!!! I get to see your pretty faces :) I´m so excited!!!!! Best day ever!!! :)

So yes we had a baptism this last Saturday :) It was s special baptism, with a special spirit. She was super prepared and I know that God led us to her. I´ve never had an investigator that pretty much invited herself to be baptised. In the first lesson she literally put a date for herself. She is awesome!! And to make it more special. On the day of her baptism, she told us that the day we contacted her on the street, she was praying for someone to help her find a way to repent. She said she had done something that she regretted a lot and wanted change. She wanted a way to make things right and when she met us, she knew we could help her. IS SHE NO SO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The mission is hard, but so worth it! You learn to love, but really love as the Savior loves. Man, I love the mission. The gospel is so true. It´s so true!!!!!!!!!!!! It touched peoples lives for good! Please share it! I know its scary, but do it and it will bless you so much! I feel at times I´m the investigator and I´m being converted in each lesson. I have learned so much in this mission, it has been the best decision of my life, and I´m so excited I get an extra month!!! The best 19 months of my life!

I hope you all have a great week and the women in my life know how much I love you guys! Mom, Grandmas, Aunts, cousins, friends and everyone in my life. You have all touched my life for good, and it has built me into who I am. I am eternally grateful for each and everyone of you! Remeber who you are, and your worth as a woman. Priceless.

Happy Mothers Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its a New Dawn, Its a New Day, Its a New Life for Me. And I´m feeling...GOOOOD!!!!

Hello Hello or should I say Hola Hola Family!!

How is everyone doing? I hope that all are doing well and that you´re not all dying of heat like we are down here! Let me tell you its hot! One sister is so funny and told us that every day that its hot like that, is a call to repentance. She said we´re just getting the taste of hell right now! Oh and is it so true! I have truly repented of all of my sins! :) So stay cool everyone!

So this week was a little rough to be honest, with the heat starting up, there aren´t a lot of peole outside to contact, so we´re not finding a lot of people to teach right now. Our numbers weren´t the best, but that is the amazing thing about God´s plan for us! We can repent, we can repent over and over again, and come away stronger each time! And everytime we repent, we feel GOOOOD!!! My title is not just because I love Michael Buble, but is how I feel each day can start. We can start each day with a new outlook, we can have a new dawn, day, life, thanks to the Atonement. As I ponder on what I have learned most on the mission and is the peace and joy that comes from applying the Atonement to my life each day. The mission is hard, there are so many commandments in the mission and at times you feel like such a sinner or that you just aren´t good enough. But I have come to know of the strength and forgiving power of the Atonement. I have felt the comforting love of my Savior when I felt I wasn´t good enough or the times when I knew I could have done better! But I know that each day, week, month, transfer, I am a better missionary and person. I have come to find a new life in the mission. One I hope to never give up. I have found the Savior in my life and the way that I can become more like my Savior. It´s not easy and I know I am far from perfect, but I know that I can become strong and that is what keeps me going. Everyday, I have a new life waiting for me that is bigger and better than I can imagine. I just have to trust and confide in my Savior and Heavenly Father. A scripture that has been my strength my whole mission and I truly have come to know for myself that is is true, is found in Ether 12:27:
And if men come unto me I will show unto them theirweakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humblethemselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weakthings become strong unto them.

I know that I have weakness, but I have seen myself become strong as I have relied on the Lord. I´m so far from where I need to be, but I know that I can become who I need to be through the Atonement of Christ. I testify that there is hope and that we can all become strong in Christ. Just trust in the Atonement, it is real.

I hope you all can apply the Atonement into your lives this week. That you can gain the hope of a new dawn, new day, and a new life, thanks to your Savior. He is there to help and always has been. Trust me, you will feel soooo GOOOOD!!

I hope you have a great week and know how much I love you guys! Stay strong and keep the faith!

Sweet is the Spirit a Child Brings

Hi Family!!!

How are you all doing?? I hope that this letter finds you all well!! All is well in Minatitlan! Summer is here and has gotten up to 105 for the high this week! I´m constantly sweating, but I´m happy! All is well in Zion!
So Luis and Marlene were baptised this last Saturday!! It was so special! They were so excited and showed up about 30 minutes before with the biggest smiles on their faces! It was a cute program as the primary gave talks and sang! There was a sweet spirit there and I know these kids are gonna be power houses for their families! They are so willing and humble! I love working with kids! They just love you the way you are and believe every word you say! I now understand the whole "suffer the children" because they really are the kingdom of God!

We have seen even more miracles in this last week. I´m convinced that Mina is just one big miracle! We have found a few new awesome and super prepared investigators, so we´re super excited for this next month!

I hope you all are doing well and all have a good week! Know that I love you all and pray for you each day! Also a big CONGRATS to Kiera Lynn!!! I´m so excited for you Kiera!! oh and for Tanner :)

Stay strong and keep the faith family! There is nothing standing in your way!

Con mucho amor,
Hermana Pasley

P.S. Sorry for the lack of fotos. The computers here don´t read my memory...so you may not be getting pics for a while. Sorry!

I´m a Mormon!

Hello Family!!!

How are we all?? First off...CONGRATS TO JOSH AND CAMI AND WELCOME LITTLE KENNEDY RAY!!!! i CAN´T WAIT TO HOLD HER! well I hope you´re not dying of heat as much as I am!!! Its begun...the heat has come to stay. The good news...i´ll be getting skinnier :) So I love this area. The people are so willing to listen and no one is quite as rude as in Villa!

The good news is that we have 2 baptisms this week!!! Woohoo!! When I got here, they literally had nothing! I´m not really sure what was going on, but we started from ground zero. So we've been contacting like crazy and looking for lots of new investigators! And these 2 little kids were abandoned by their Mom and were sent to their Dad´s house here in Mina. His wife is a recent convert and called us to teach them the lessons. They accepted baptism and a date in the first lesson. They really were the miracle that I have been praying for! There names are Luis (13) and Marlene (10). There so cute, dirt poor and literally have one pair of cloths, but the sweetest little things you have ever seen!! I´m so excited and know that God is with me every step of the way! I love the work!!!

This week we also got the chance to work with Hermana Morales (the presidents wife) yeah I was a little scared!! But it turned out to be a huge success and we were able to find 3 new investigators that are GOLDEN!!! We are so stoked!! I came to love Hermana Morales that day and her daughters cause they tagged along! It was a fun girls day out!! And to top of the scare, they let us watch Meet the Mormons. It is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved it and was so proud to be a Mormon!

My name is Hermana Pasley, I´m a missionary, soccer lover, and I am a Mormon!!

With so much love,

Hermana Pasley

#LDSconf - You Know That's Right!

Hey Family!

So again I don´t have a lot of time...ugh time, its gonna be the death of me in the mission! But did you guys see conference??? Was it not AMAZING!!!! All I have to say is, IT´S SOOOOOOOOOO TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT´S SO TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE HAVE THE TRUTH AND I´M GOING TO DECLARE IT FROM THE ROOF TOPS or maybe the dusty streets of Mina, but IT´S SO TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Watching conference and hearing the power behind our leaders, you can´t help but feel its true. If you didn´t get the chance to see conference, I encourage you to go back and watch them! They gave us EVERY secret to have success and have eternal success! Watch it!

My companions is Hermana Sarmiento she is from El Salvador and has 5 months in the mission. We were actually in Villa together so I already knew her! She is awesome and we´re super excited to work because there is a ton here!!

I love you all and hope that you have a great week! Know that I love you all so much and are always in my prayers! LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!

A Prayer Answered

Family!!

How are you doing?? I´m glad to hear that everything is going well and that all is safe and sound in good ol´ St. George. I hope you´re not all dying of heat stroke yet...because we sure are! Woohooo hot season here we come! I´m gonna be sweating bullets and getting really burnt!

So good news...we have a baptism this week. There names are Dany and her daughter Ximena. We have been working with them for the last 2 months and it has been a struggle let me tell you! She contacted US outside the Catholic church ironically enough, told us that her and her husband were having problems and would like us to come and talk to them both. Sadly her and her husband have separated, but instead of sit and cry and drown in her misery, she decided to be the change and become a better person. She has quit smoking, changed the way she talks, the way she dressed, we have seen a HUGE change in her. It is amazing what the love of the Savior can do to someone. This last week, she wasn´t wanting to commit to a date, she was nervous and felt like she wasn´t prepared enough. By the end of the week, I had no idea what to do. I don´t think I have ever prayed so much in my whole life...what do I do...what do I say? As we went into the lesson I prayed with everything I had and we began to talk, when we invited her to be baptised on her date she doubted again and didn´t want to commit, so I prayed please Heavenly Father give me the words she needs to hear. And all that came to my mind was you don´t need to say anything, let God talk to her. So I invited her to pray and ask God himself if that was what she should do. So we got on our knees and she began to pray. As she got to her question, she asked God if this is what he wants her to do and after she asked she hesitated a little and began to cry, but not just cry, weep. She cried and cried and cried for about 3 or 4 minutes, then all the sudden pulled herself together, thanked God for the answer and ended her prayer. Finishing her prayer she looked up at us and said she had never felt something like that. She felt as if the Savior was right next to her and felt so much peace. And in that moment she knew what she had to do. She will be baptized this Friday with her daughter.

That experience strengthened my testimony so much. I KNOW that God answers prayers and I KNOW that I am doing the Lord´s work and that he leads and guides me everyday. I am an instrument in his hands to help others have the joy and peace I have in my life. This work is amazing and every day am more and more grateful for the choice I made to come on a mission. I love my Savior and am so honored to serve.

I love you all and hope you have a great week! Stay strong and keep the faith.

What Motivates You??

Dearest Family,

How are you all doing?? I hope you are all having a fantastic Monday and are so stoked to start the week off!! Mondays are the best...just keep telling yourself that :) So the weather is hot and rainy, sooo we´re nice and humid down here in Villa! The work is good and I am loving this area, but fell that I will be transfered this next transfer so I´m trying to enjoy every second I can! I´ll be sad to leave the good ward of Carrizales!!

So awesome spiritual moment I had this week. In the mission, we seem to be losing the want to contact people, which to be honest is a struggle for me. And our District Leader is awesome and found the perfect way to get me motivated and on my feet again. He talked about the Law of Consecration. And I want all of you to do the same and think what motivates you to give everything to the lord? Now watch this video:

https://www.lds.org/media-library/video/2010-07-139-treasure-in-heaven-the-john-tanner-story?lang=eng

I know each and every one of you and my ancestors and my future family are my motivation. I have committed to give all to the lord in these last 3 months of my mission and hope to be able to be as willing and giving as John Tanner. What motivates you? What will you give to the Lord this week?

I love you all and hope you have a super week! Stay strong and keep the faith!

A Quick Note

Hi Family!

So, I´m gonna make this quick! I´m sorry but I don´t have a lot of time to write today! I hope you are all doing well and all is safe in sound where ever you are! Know I love each and every one of you!

Quick story. So we are working with a Mom and her two kids. One is 9 and the other 5. The Mom has been a handful, but has finally come to accept the gospel and has accepted baptism, so we are really excited. But her daughter Ximena (9), accepted EVERYTHING within the first lesson! And this last week, we were helping her Mom with her doubts of the BOM, and were reading 3 Nephi 11 and we had just finished reading when Jesus explains how we should be baptised, and as Ximena finished reading, she yelled out, but with so much emotion, "I just want to be baptised like Jesus already!!!!!" I couldn´t help but laugh, but it is amazing how close to the Lord children are. They really are perfect, for they really are of the kingdom of heaven!!! I love being a missionary and I love learning each and everyday. I think I have learned more by the undoubting and unconditional faith of the children than anyone else! Just watch your little ones and you will be amazed!

I love you all and hope you have a great week! Stay strong and keep the faith!

I really like reading preach my gospel. Yeah...I´m that good of a missionary! :)

If the Savior Stood Beside Me

Dear Fam Bam,

How (that's Indian for hi)! How are we all doing? I hope you have all had a wonderful week even if it still is cold there. Just don´t take it for granted okay? We´re sweating bullets down here! The sun is strong as ever here in the little town of Villahermosa!

So this last week we had divisions and I got to see my good friend Hermana Moser this week and that made me real happy, so I enjoyed divisions. It was funny, when I met back with my companion she told me she felt like I didn´t even leave because me and Hermana Moser are practically the same person, even in our teaching. Man I love Hermana Moser! So we had a good week!

So fast Sundays are always special, even more in the mission. But this last Sunday was a pretty powerful fast Sunday. All day, I felt so...alive with the spirit. It seemed to be with me the whole day, and I was able to enjoy it through out the day and nothing seemed to bring me down! I was walking on cloud nine all day! And my testimony of my Savior became so much stronger yesterday.

So we have this investigator named Dany who came looking for US. she actually contacted us in front of the huge catholic church ironically enough and we have been teaching her these past few weeks. She is in the middle of splitting up with her husband and is in a rough patch right now and really needs the gospel. And right now she is finding her peace in a cigarette. So we taught her about the atonement yesterday and in that lesson I don´t think I have ever felt the spirit so strong. I knew in that moment that the Savior was with me, helping her overcome the hate and hurtful feelings that her husband has caused her. He was literally right beside me! literally saw her change her heart right in front of my eyes. It was such a special moment for me and of course I was balling my eyes out with her, but we left the lesson with so much peace. I KNOW that my Savior lives and that he is working side by side with each and everyone of his missionaries because this is truly his work! I know that the promise is real, that as we partake of the Sacrament and renew our baptismal covenants we can have his spirit to be with us and he will lead and guide us and give us the strength that we need to be able to face each day with confidence and a positive attitude!

I want to testify that I know that our Savior lives and that his spirit really does dwell inside each and everyone of us. So I invite you all to look for his spirit a little bit more this week. Try a little bit harder to hear his voice, because he is there!

I love you all and hope you have a wonderful week! Stay strong and keep the faith my friends!

con muchísimo amor,

Hermana Pasley

everything is huge here!
