A Prayer Answered

Family!!

How are you doing?? I´m glad to hear that everything is going well and that all is safe and sound in good ol´ St. George. I hope you´re not all dying of heat stroke yet...because we sure are! Woohooo hot season here we come! I´m gonna be sweating bullets and getting really burnt!

So good news...we have a baptism this week. There names are Dany and her daughter Ximena. We have been working with them for the last 2 months and it has been a struggle let me tell you! She contacted US outside the Catholic church ironically enough, told us that her and her husband were having problems and would like us to come and talk to them both. Sadly her and her husband have separated, but instead of sit and cry and drown in her misery, she decided to be the change and become a better person. She has quit smoking, changed the way she talks, the way she dressed, we have seen a HUGE change in her. It is amazing what the love of the Savior can do to someone. This last week, she wasn´t wanting to commit to a date, she was nervous and felt like she wasn´t prepared enough. By the end of the week, I had no idea what to do. I don´t think I have ever prayed so much in my whole life...what do I do...what do I say? As we went into the lesson I prayed with everything I had and we began to talk, when we invited her to be baptised on her date she doubted again and didn´t want to commit, so I prayed please Heavenly Father give me the words she needs to hear. And all that came to my mind was you don´t need to say anything, let God talk to her. So I invited her to pray and ask God himself if that was what she should do. So we got on our knees and she began to pray. As she got to her question, she asked God if this is what he wants her to do and after she asked she hesitated a little and began to cry, but not just cry, weep. She cried and cried and cried for about 3 or 4 minutes, then all the sudden pulled herself together, thanked God for the answer and ended her prayer. Finishing her prayer she looked up at us and said she had never felt something like that. She felt as if the Savior was right next to her and felt so much peace. And in that moment she knew what she had to do. She will be baptized this Friday with her daughter.

That experience strengthened my testimony so much. I KNOW that God answers prayers and I KNOW that I am doing the Lord´s work and that he leads and guides me everyday. I am an instrument in his hands to help others have the joy and peace I have in my life. This work is amazing and every day am more and more grateful for the choice I made to come on a mission. I love my Savior and am so honored to serve.

I love you all and hope you have a great week! Stay strong and keep the faith.

What Motivates You??

Dearest Family,

How are you all doing?? I hope you are all having a fantastic Monday and are so stoked to start the week off!! Mondays are the best...just keep telling yourself that :) So the weather is hot and rainy, sooo we´re nice and humid down here in Villa! The work is good and I am loving this area, but fell that I will be transfered this next transfer so I´m trying to enjoy every second I can! I´ll be sad to leave the good ward of Carrizales!!

So awesome spiritual moment I had this week. In the mission, we seem to be losing the want to contact people, which to be honest is a struggle for me. And our District Leader is awesome and found the perfect way to get me motivated and on my feet again. He talked about the Law of Consecration. And I want all of you to do the same and think what motivates you to give everything to the lord? Now watch this video:

https://www.lds.org/media-library/video/2010-07-139-treasure-in-heaven-the-john-tanner-story?lang=eng

I know each and every one of you and my ancestors and my future family are my motivation. I have committed to give all to the lord in these last 3 months of my mission and hope to be able to be as willing and giving as John Tanner. What motivates you? What will you give to the Lord this week?

I love you all and hope you have a super week! Stay strong and keep the faith!

A Quick Note

Hi Family!

So, I´m gonna make this quick! I´m sorry but I don´t have a lot of time to write today! I hope you are all doing well and all is safe in sound where ever you are! Know I love each and every one of you!

Quick story. So we are working with a Mom and her two kids. One is 9 and the other 5. The Mom has been a handful, but has finally come to accept the gospel and has accepted baptism, so we are really excited. But her daughter Ximena (9), accepted EVERYTHING within the first lesson! And this last week, we were helping her Mom with her doubts of the BOM, and were reading 3 Nephi 11 and we had just finished reading when Jesus explains how we should be baptised, and as Ximena finished reading, she yelled out, but with so much emotion, "I just want to be baptised like Jesus already!!!!!" I couldn´t help but laugh, but it is amazing how close to the Lord children are. They really are perfect, for they really are of the kingdom of heaven!!! I love being a missionary and I love learning each and everyday. I think I have learned more by the undoubting and unconditional faith of the children than anyone else! Just watch your little ones and you will be amazed!

I love you all and hope you have a great week! Stay strong and keep the faith!

If the Savior Stood Beside Me

Dear Fam Bam,

How (that's Indian for hi)! How are we all doing? I hope you have all had a wonderful week even if it still is cold there. Just don´t take it for granted okay? We´re sweating bullets down here! The sun is strong as ever here in the little town of Villahermosa!

So this last week we had divisions and I got to see my good friend Hermana Moser this week and that made me real happy, so I enjoyed divisions. It was funny, when I met back with my companion she told me she felt like I didn´t even leave because me and Hermana Moser are practically the same person, even in our teaching. Man I love Hermana Moser! So we had a good week!

So fast Sundays are always special, even more in the mission. But this last Sunday was a pretty powerful fast Sunday. All day, I felt so...alive with the spirit. It seemed to be with me the whole day, and I was able to enjoy it through out the day and nothing seemed to bring me down! I was walking on cloud nine all day! And my testimony of my Savior became so much stronger yesterday.

So we have this investigator named Dany who came looking for US. she actually contacted us in front of the huge catholic church ironically enough and we have been teaching her these past few weeks. She is in the middle of splitting up with her husband and is in a rough patch right now and really needs the gospel. And right now she is finding her peace in a cigarette. So we taught her about the atonement yesterday and in that lesson I don´t think I have ever felt the spirit so strong. I knew in that moment that the Savior was with me, helping her overcome the hate and hurtful feelings that her husband has caused her. He was literally right beside me! literally saw her change her heart right in front of my eyes. It was such a special moment for me and of course I was balling my eyes out with her, but we left the lesson with so much peace. I KNOW that my Savior lives and that he is working side by side with each and everyone of his missionaries because this is truly his work! I know that the promise is real, that as we partake of the Sacrament and renew our baptismal covenants we can have his spirit to be with us and he will lead and guide us and give us the strength that we need to be able to face each day with confidence and a positive attitude!

I want to testify that I know that our Savior lives and that his spirit really does dwell inside each and everyone of us. So I invite you all to look for his spirit a little bit more this week. Try a little bit harder to hear his voice, because he is there!

I love you all and hope you have a wonderful week! Stay strong and keep the faith my friends!

con muchísimo amor,

Hermana Pasley

everything is huge here!
