A Prayer Answered

Family!!

How are you doing?? I´m glad to hear that everything is going well and that all is safe and sound in good ol´ St. George. I hope you´re not all dying of heat stroke yet...because we sure are! Woohooo hot season here we come! I´m gonna be sweating bullets and getting really burnt!

So good news...we have a baptism this week. There names are Dany and her daughter Ximena. We have been working with them for the last 2 months and it has been a struggle let me tell you! She contacted US outside the Catholic church ironically enough, told us that her and her husband were having problems and would like us to come and talk to them both. Sadly her and her husband have separated, but instead of sit and cry and drown in her misery, she decided to be the change and become a better person. She has quit smoking, changed the way she talks, the way she dressed, we have seen a HUGE change in her. It is amazing what the love of the Savior can do to someone. This last week, she wasn´t wanting to commit to a date, she was nervous and felt like she wasn´t prepared enough. By the end of the week, I had no idea what to do. I don´t think I have ever prayed so much in my whole life...what do I do...what do I say? As we went into the lesson I prayed with everything I had and we began to talk, when we invited her to be baptised on her date she doubted again and didn´t want to commit, so I prayed please Heavenly Father give me the words she needs to hear. And all that came to my mind was you don´t need to say anything, let God talk to her. So I invited her to pray and ask God himself if that was what she should do. So we got on our knees and she began to pray. As she got to her question, she asked God if this is what he wants her to do and after she asked she hesitated a little and began to cry, but not just cry, weep. She cried and cried and cried for about 3 or 4 minutes, then all the sudden pulled herself together, thanked God for the answer and ended her prayer. Finishing her prayer she looked up at us and said she had never felt something like that. She felt as if the Savior was right next to her and felt so much peace. And in that moment she knew what she had to do. She will be baptized this Friday with her daughter.

That experience strengthened my testimony so much. I KNOW that God answers prayers and I KNOW that I am doing the Lord´s work and that he leads and guides me everyday. I am an instrument in his hands to help others have the joy and peace I have in my life. This work is amazing and every day am more and more grateful for the choice I made to come on a mission. I love my Savior and am so honored to serve.

I love you all and hope you have a great week! Stay strong and keep the faith.

Hermana Pasley
